At "Inspiring Local Champions " we reimagined the Terry Fox exhibit with a fresh new design, building on the original content while introducing two additional interactive stations. Through compelling storytelling and dynamic technology, we celebrate Terry Fox — a national icon and beloved local hero — inviting new generations to connect with his extraordinary journey.

This exhibit invites visitors to discover the inspiring journey of a local and national hero through three dynamic, interactive experiences. Explore an interactive timeline tracing Terry’s early life, create a personalized "Champion" avatar in a playful, open-ended game, and dive into local athletic achievements with the redesigned Sports Hall of Fame exhibit. Each experience encourages curiosity, personal reflection, and a deeper connection to Terry’s legacy. Designed for all ages, the exhibition sparks inspiration and celebrates the spirit of perseverance.

Our approach

We combined advanced back-end and front-end technologies to create exhibits that are intuitive, interactive, and engaging. By designing open-ended experiences and a flexible content system, we ensured the exhibition could grow and evolve over time, while keeping Terry Fox’s story closely tied to the heart of the Port Coquitlam community.

Interactive Timeline

We developed a graphic timeline of Terry Fox’s early years, featuring a sliding touchscreen that lets visitors scroll through key moments. Each milestone unlocks stories about his childhood and life growing up in Port Coquitlam, offering a deeply personal look at the man behind the legend.

‘My Champion’ AI Avatar Exhibit

This digital interactive experience invites visitors to take a playful personality quiz and build their own "Champion" avatar, reflecting the qualities that made Terry Fox extraordinary. The open-ended format encourages creativity, self-reflection, and personal connection to Terry’s legacy.

PoCo’s Sports Hall of Fame

We redesigned and reprogrammed the Sports Hall of Fame’s interactive touchscreen display, presenting articles, images, and profiles of local sports heroes. The backend was rebuilt for effortless updates by the Sports Alliance team, ensuring the exhibit stays fresh and dynamic over time.

AI-Generated Content Gamification

For the "My Champion" experience, we integrated a custom AI-driven avatar generator. It creates unique, personalized champion characters for visitors based on their quiz responses, enhancing engagement for younger audiences and families and offering a modern, meaningful twist to traditional museum storytelling.
